SEOUL, October 16 (AJP) - Chipmaker SK hynix topped the list of companies attracting the most interest from job seekers in South Korea over the past year, job portal Incruit said on Friday.
The findings were based on data collected from September 2025 to September 2026 through the portal's feature that allows job seekers to select companies of interest and receive job postings from them via e-mail.
Automaker Hyundai Motor took second place, with state-run Incheon International Airport Corporation, tech giant Kakao and semiconductor giant Samsung Electronics rounding out the top five.
State-owned Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) also made the top 10, which may reflect job seekers' preference for stable employment.
Woori Bank was the only financial institution to make the list.
SK hynix's top position may reflect growing interest among job seekers in the booming semiconductor industry, fueled in part by the rapid rise of artificial intelligence (AI). However, the data does not explain why job seekers chose these companies or disclose how many users added each company to their list of favorites.
