Celltrion announced on October 27 that it achieved consolidated revenue of 1.575 trillion won and an operating profit of 525.3 billion won for the third quarter of this year. Both revenue and operating profit are the highest recorded for any quarter. Compared to the same period last year, revenue increased by 53.1%, while operating profit rose by 74.3%. The operating profit margin improved by 4 percentage points to 33.3%.

Compared to the preliminary results announced on October 12, revenue increased by 75.5 billion won, and operating profit grew by 15.3 billion won. The company stated, "The increase in sales of high-margin new product lines and improvements in product composition had a more significant impact than expected." This record performance was achieved despite accounting for research and development expenses related to new drug and next-generation product development.

The surge in performance was driven by new product lines, which generated sales of 905.8 billion won in the third quarter, marking a nearly 74% increase compared to the same period last year and approaching 1 trillion won. New products accounted for 67% of biopharmaceutical sales, up 13 percentage points from a year ago and 2 percentage points from the previous quarter.

As the proportion of high-revenue products increased and sales grew, fixed cost efficiency also improved. Consequently, the growth rate of operating profit exceeded the revenue growth rate by 21.2 percentage points. The operating profit margin, which was 23.6% in the third quarter of 2024, has risen by nearly 10 percentage points.

In terms of individual products, combined sales of the subcutaneous formulation of infliximab, known as 'Remsima SC' and its U.S. brand name 'Jympenza,' reached 254.2 billion won, a 19% increase. Year-to-date sales have reached 710.4 billion won, positioning the company to achieve annual sales of 1 trillion won. Sales of 'Uplizna' (ingredient: adalimumab) increased by 27% to 183.2 billion won. Uplizna holds a market share of approximately 22% in Europe as of the second quarter, maintaining its leading position. Sales of the allergy treatment 'Omilclomab' (ingredient: omalizumab) reached 320.5 billion won in the third quarter, a staggering 542.3% increase from 49.9 billion won in the same period last year. Omilclomab is sold in 26 countries across Europe, with a market share exceeding 90% in Spain.

Omilclomab was launched in the United States earlier this month. It is the first biosimilar of omalizumab in the U.S., securing the same indications and interchangeability status as the original drug, along with three dosage forms. 'Aptozma' recently signed an exclusive supply agreement with a major U.S. healthcare company, expanding its sales channels into the insurance market and hospital supply chains.

A Celltrion representative stated, "Achieving record revenue and operating profit while continuing to invest in future growth drivers is significant. We expect to maintain this growth trend in the fourth quarter."
