Hyundai Motor Group, a leader in the domestic hydrogen vehicle market, will unveil next-generation hydrogen mobility technologies, including a fuel cell system with enhanced durability and an automatic charging robot, at the World Hydrogen Expo 2026 (WHE 2026) next month.
The expo will take place from November 4 to 6 at KINTEX in Goyang, South Korea. This year marks the seventh edition of WHE, which combines a hydrogen industry exhibition with an international conference, featuring participation from over 190 companies and organizations across 11 countries.
Hyundai will showcase its commercial hydrogen fuel cell system for the first time, designed with durability enhancements to accommodate the unique demands of commercial vehicles that operate for extended periods, over long distances, and with heavy loads.
Additionally, the company will demonstrate the process of refueling a cleaning truck using a hydrogen electric vehicle automatic charging robot for the first time. Hyundai will also present its vehicle monitoring solution, 'Blue Link Uptime Care,' which allows real-time tracking of operational status and key component conditions of hydrogen commercial vehicles.
Hyundai is also set to introduce the 'Elec City Hydrogen Electric Low-floor Bus,' currently under development, aimed at improving mobility for individuals with disabilities, including wheelchair users. Attendees will have the opportunity to board the bus and experience its interior layout.
Furthermore, Hyundai will operate a test drive program for the improved model of the Universe hydrogen electric bus and the New Xcient hydrogen electric truck.
A Hyundai representative stated, "We plan to enhance customer convenience from operation to maintenance and charging through our improved durability fuel cell system, data-driven vehicle management, and automated hydrogen charging technologies."
As of last month, Hyundai has sold a total of 50,262 hydrogen vehicles in South Korea, including 46,507 passenger vehicles (Nexo) and 3,755 commercial vehicles (Elec City, Universe, Xcient).
