SEOUL, October 28 (AJP) - Samsung Electronics' brand value rose 16 percent to US$105.2 billion this year, keeping it at No. 5 in the latest rankings of the best global brands by consultancy Interbrand for the seventh consecutive year, the South Korean tech giant said on Wednesday.

Its brand value rose from $90.5 billion last year, surpassing the $100 billion mark for the first time.

Samsung was the only Asian company to remain among the world's five most valuable brands every year since 2020, ranking fifth behind Apple at $514.6 billion, Microsoft at $443.7 billion, Google at $389.3 billion and Amazon at $351.8 billion.

Samsung attributed its higher brand value to strong earnings fueled by growing demand for semiconductors driven by artificial intelligence (AI), improved features across its smartphones, televisions and home appliances, and a strategy focused on providing a more connected customer experience.

"Samsung's vision is to inspire the world with innovative technologies, products and design that enrich people's lives and contribute to social prosperity by creating a new future," Interbrand said.

Interbrand publishes its annual list of the world’s top 100 brands based on a comprehensive assessment of companies' financial performance, outlook and other factors to gauge their overall brand competitiveness.
