LG Uplus announced on October 29 that it has partnered with the Korean Red Cross to provide emergency relief supplies and communication services to evacuees affected by a fire in Guryong Village, located in Gangnam, Seoul.

The fire, which broke out on the afternoon of October 27, has left over 200 evacuees staying at relief centers set up at Guryong Middle School and Gaepo Middle School.

At the Guryong Middle School relief center, LG Uplus installed free smartphone charging stations and Wi-Fi, and provided power banks. Wi-Fi was also set up at the Gaepo Middle School relief center.

These measures aim to help evacuees stay in contact with family and friends and access necessary information during the evacuation.

Lee Myung-seob, head of the CRS Innovation Team at LG Uplus, stated, "We hope to provide some assistance to evacuees facing difficulties due to the sudden fire. We will work to support communication so they can stay in touch with family and access important information during the evacuation."
