Pan Ocean achieved an operating profit of 197.4 billion won in the third quarter of this year, marking its highest quarterly performance in four years. This improvement is attributed to enhanced profitability across its key business segments, including bulk carriers, tankers, and container ships.

On November 2, Pan Ocean announced that its consolidated revenue for the third quarter reached 2.09 trillion won, with an operating profit of 197.4 billion won. Compared to the same period last year, revenue increased by 65.2%, and operating profit rose by 57.7%. Compared to the previous quarter, revenue and operating profit grew by 9.6% and 1.9%, respectively.

Notably, operating profit has increased each quarter from the first to the third quarter of this year, achieving the highest quarterly operating profit since the third quarter of 2022.

By business segment, the core dry bulk division reported an operating profit of 100.6 billion won, an increase of 82.6% compared to the same period last year. The tanker segment benefited from the delivery of very large crude carriers (VLCCs) under long-term contracts with SK Energy and improved market conditions for medium-range (MR) oil product carriers, resulting in an operating profit of 34.8 billion won, up 71.4% year-on-year.

The container shipping segment saw a 134.8% increase in operating profit to 17.5 billion won, driven by reduced vessel supply due to service disruptions at Shanghai and Ningbo ports and increased cargo volumes ahead of China's National Day. The LNG segment also reported an operating profit of 43.6 billion won, a 7.6% increase from the previous year, supported by long-term transportation contracts.

Looking ahead, Pan Ocean aims to secure stable profitability through diversification of its business portfolio and efficient fleet operations.

A company representative stated, "We will enhance our responsiveness to market changes by expanding our business portfolio and continuously strengthening our fleet competitiveness and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management foundation. We also aim to increase corporate value through investments for future growth and active shareholder returns."
