Chinese telecommunications equipment giant Huawei Technologies Co. said its 2013 sales are estimated to reach 238-240 billion yuan (approximately 41 trillion won), up 8 percent from the previous year, Chinese media reported Thursday.
Net profit will likely total 28.6-29.4 billion yuan (about 5 trillion won), up 43 percent from a year earlier, said the Shin Jingbao newspaper published in Beijing.
Huawei, headquartered in Shenzhen, south China’s Guangdong Province, became the world's third largest smartphone manufacturer last year, mainly due to a fast-growing Chinese market with a population of more than 1.3 billion.
It sold 52 million smartphones around the world, an increase of more than 60 percent from 2012.
