Taeyeon from Girls' Generation has expressed her frustration over "Sasaeng" fans calling her during night time. Sasaeng is a Korean synonym for over-enthusiastic fans that do not care about celebrities' private lives by directly interfering with it.
Taeyeon previously uploaded a screenshot of incoming phone calls on her Instagram on Wednesday, with a comment "This is definitely not good for me nor you." The singer deleted the post soon after, but the screenshot image was already spread throughout her fan clubs.
Many fans were enraged over Sasaeng fans' inappropriate behavior and urged the Sasaengs to stop bothering the singer. Some even tracked the numbers down and identified the calls were made from South Korea, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.
The anonymous calls were expected to come to a halt, but it did not. Taeyeon uploaded another post on Thursday commenting in frustration, "Please stop. I cannot go to sleep. You must be crazy. You are calling me every three minutes. I should have known that you hate me this much."
The singer also commented "I must have thought wrong. I shouldn't have answered the call. I thought it was a good opportunity to get close with a fan…." Taeyeon deleted the post soon after the upload.
According to rumors, A Sasaeng obtained the singer's phone number and when the fan finally got in contact with Taeyeon on the phone, the singer took a moment to have a chat with the fan. But after succeeding in getting in touch with Taeyeon, the Sasaeng shared the celebrity's phone number over a Sasaeng community.
