Tens of Facebook users with the same name as Lee Kun-hee, the bed-ridden chairman of Samsung Electronics, have joined a prank campaign to apologize for causing a global recall of Galaxy Note 7 smartphones.
In a parody Facebook account during the weekend, a user uploaded the picture of Lee Kun-hee bowing in a gesture of apology and wrote: "I really have nothing to say about Note 7's explosion. I promise to be an improved Kun-hee. All other Kun-hees (should) make an apology."
The parody account tagged 41 other Facebook users named Lee Kun-hee who left replies of apology. One said: "I don’t' really know what this is about. But I am sorry." Another said: "Oh! Did I do something wrong? I am so sorry." This prank is based on the explosion of Note 7s due to faulty batteries.
Samsung admitted that there was a major fault with batteries and pledged a global recall and the full exchange of smartphones sold worldwide.
