"Pandora", a nuclear disaster movie, has swept the third weekend of December's Box-office by hoarding a total of 3.1 million accumulated viewers.

The film directed by Park Jung-woo depicts the Korean peninsula under a nuclear crisis, caused by a massive earthquake followed by a nuclear disaster. Many moviegoers and critics praised the reality of the film.

The film's success was attributed to overriding fears among many South Koreans following a series of earthquakes this year in the southeastern region near Busan, home to a cluster of nuclear power plants.

Second in the Box-office was the musical film "La La Land" which drew over 610,000 viewers, followed by Hong Mi-young's "Will You Be There?", a remake of the novel of the same title by French writer Guillaume Musso.
