Samsung Electronics will live stream a UFC 212 main event in virtual reality for the first time in the history of mixed martial arts (MMA). The event in Brazil will be held on June 3 and the free service will be given only to the users of Samsung's VR headset "Gear VR".
Samsung said Tuesday it would also live stream an extreme game event and a live music concert in VR this summer. "We are excited to offer Samsung Gear VR users the opportunity to experience their favorite live music and sporting events," a Samsung official said in a statement.
The company said its VR live streaming events would deliver an "electrifying new way to experience live entertainment without the need to physically attend the events". A high-quality 360-degree view of the UFC event would be live streamed with fans getting access to pre-event and post-event show highlights.
