The list of most-streamed tracks was topped by "As It Was" included in Harry Styles' album, followed by Glass Animals' "Heat Waves" and The Kid LAROI's "STAY" with Justin Bieber.
Spotify’s top 10 K-pop tracks in 2022 have been dominated by BTS and BLACKPINK. BTS's "Dynamite" took the first place on the list in 2022, only switching places with "Butter," the most-streamed K-pop song in 2021.
While ENHYPEN and (G)I-DLE newly joined the top 10 list in 2022, BTS, BLACKPINK, TWICE, and Stray Kids kept their places from first to fourth spots. SEVENTEEN, who took seventh place on the list last year, moved up to number five, followed by TOMORROW X TOGETHER.
BTS and Stray Kids held their top two spots on the list of 10 most-streamed K-pop boy groups. Among K-pop male solo artists, BTS members Jungkook, j-hope, and V topped the list from first to third places.
Following BLACKPINK’s LISA, IU and TAEYEON occupied second and third places on the list of top K-pop female solo artists. Fourth-generation K-pop girl groups -- ITZY, (G)I-DLE, aespa, IVE, LE SSERAFIM, NewJeans, and STAYC -- occupied the top 10 list of female K-pop groups, while BLACKPINK, TWICE, and ITZY kept the same top three places.
Spotify said that top 10 most-streamed K-pop artists garnered more than 16.5 billion streams in 2022, up 20 percent from 2021. "Following last year, we are elated to share the achievements K-pop artists have made throughout the year and celebrate them together with our global listeners, artists and partners through 2022 Wrapped," Spotify’s Music Asia head Kossy Ng said in a statement on December 1.
"It's exciting to see how the data reflects the globalization of Korean music, as we continue to connect artists with more listeners across the world," Ng said.
