SEOUL, July 22 (AJU PRESS) - CJ CheilJedang, a prominent Korean food company, plans to operate an outdoor booth to promote Korean cuisine in Paris during the 2024 Olympic Games, which are set to open in the French capital this week.

The company said Monday the Bibigo Si-Jang (market) will run from July 25 to August 11 within the Korea House, a national promotional space organized by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee.

The food store will span about 230 square meters in an outdoor garden and offer a range of Korean dishes, including kimchi, tteokbokki (finger-sized rice cakes simmered in a fiery-red spicy chili sauce) and various dumplings.

This initiative follows the company's establishment of a French subsidiary in May.

"We expect to introduce Bibigo and Korean food to visitors from Europe and other nations," said a CJ CheilJedang spokesperson. "As a representative of Korean cuisine, we will promote the taste of Korean food globally through various marketing activities."

The company’s European operations saw a 45 percent year-on-year increase in regional food sales during the first quarter.

CJ CheilJedang has been actively expanding its presence in European markets, including Germany and the United Kingdom, through acquisitions and partnerships with major retailers. It recently launched an official Bibigo store on Amazon Germany.
