Korean Air and Asiana Airlines security officials gathered for their first joint communication event.

Korean Air announced on June 30 that it held the 'First Security Culture Workshop' at its headquarters in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. This event was organized in preparation for the launch of the integrated Korean Air at the end of the year, with over 40 security officials from both airlines in attendance.

The workshop included sessions on: introducing the latest aviation security threats, understanding the concept of security culture and ways to establish it within organizations, training on human factors and their application in aviation security, group discussions using real security violation scenarios, and a declaration of commitment to practicing security culture followed by a joint signing ceremony.

During the event, participants analyzed potential security risk scenarios that could arise in real-world situations, discussing the root causes from various perspectives. They also shared their experiences and expertise to develop practical improvement measures that could be immediately applied in the field.

Bennet Allen Walsh, head of Korean Air's Aviation Safety and Security Office, stated, "Recognizing and addressing risk factors proactively in each position is key to maintaining a high level of security. We will strive to ensure that these principles become part of the new organizational culture of integrated Korean Air."

Meanwhile, Korean Air is currently aligning its operations, services, and safety procedures in preparation for the launch of the merged airline with Asiana on December 17.
