According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the revisions to the relevant rules, approved at a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, raise the upper age limit to 34, expanding the range to those aged 15 to 34, from the previous range, which defined young people as those aged 15 to 29.
The ministry said the move will provide more support for young people entering the labor market while making youth policies more consistent.
Separately, a new government-run labor committee will be created to discuss ways to improve pay and working conditions for non-regular and contract-based workers in the public sector.
It will also have smaller groups of 15 to 30 members to handle different issues.
