On October 31, at the Banpo Han River Park in Seoul, the opening ceremony of the 2026 Second Han River Walking Festival took place. Kwon Hyuk-joo, head of Aju Economic Daily's media division, addressed the attendees, encouraging them to immerse themselves in the beauty of Seoul and the Han River during the autumn season.

Kwon stated, "Thanks to your support, this festival, which took its first steps last year, is continuing into its second year. The weather today is wonderful, reminding me of the song 'On a Wonderful Day in October.' Just like the lyrics, it feels like a truly splendid autumn day with a clear sky and pleasant atmosphere."

He added, "This year's event features a course designed for citizens to fully enjoy the autumn scenery along the Han River, allowing them to experience relaxation and vitality in the heart of the city. I hope today’s walking festival becomes a day filled with beautiful memories for all participants as they walk into the autumn landscape and appreciate the beauty of Seoul and the Han River."

Approximately 3,000 participants, including local citizens, tourists, and international students, joined this year's festival. The event aims to promote a healthy walking culture while creating a festive atmosphere that transcends nationalities and generations. Aju News Corporation hosted the event, with support from the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Sports Council.

Among the participants were over 500 foreigners from countries including Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, the United States, Mexico, France, and Italy. Additionally, around 2,500 locals joined in, making a total of over 3,000 people walking along the Han River.
