Historical film 'The Throne' to open in theaters Sept. 16

South Korean actress Moon Geun-young takes her seat at the outset of a media preview of the upcoming historical film "The Throne" at Megabox COEX in Gangnam-gu, southern Seoul, Thursday. Moon plays Hyegyeonggung Hong-ssi (1735-1815), wife of the ill-fated Crown Prince Sado (1735-1762) played by actor Yoo Ah-in. Sodo's father, King Yeongjo (1694-1776), the 21st monarch of Korea's Joseon Kingdom, is played by actor Song Kang-ho. Yeongjo starves his own son, Sado, to death, according to historical records. The movie will open in local cinemas on Sept. 16.
