SEOUL, April 23 (AJU PRESS) - LG Electronics will provide its autonomous robot "CLOi" for Bring, a delivery service app by Kakao Mobility set to be launched this Friday.

When users place orders for coffee and food via the Bring app, CLOi robots will deliver them to offices, hotels, and many other facilities. The robot, capable of transporting products weighing up to 30 kilograms (66.1 pounds), can serve up to four locations.

Staff members will load the items into the delivery robot's drawer and send them to customers. The robot can take the elevator. It is equipped with security and locking devices to prevent theft or loss during delivery.

LG Electronics has been expanding its commercial robot business. In March 2023, the company announced a $60 million investment plan in Bear Robotics, a U.S. autonomous serving robot startup. According to data released by market analyst firm Markets and Markets, the global service robot market is expected to skyrocket to $84.8 billion by 2028 from $41.5 billion in 2023.

In Korea, robots are ubiquitous across various sectors, including restaurant services, elderly care, and surveillance. Statistics Korea estimates about 10,000 serving robots were in operation across the country in 2023.
