SEOUL, July 24 (AJU PRESS) - Taihan Cable & Solution on Wednesday launched Korea's first cable laying vessel (CLV) dedicated to offshore wind power projects. The 6,200-ton vessel, named Palos, was unveiled at a ceremony held at the Kodae-Port in the central city of Asan.
The Palos, capable of carrying up to 4,400 tons of submarine cable, is equipped with advanced features including a dynamic positioning system.
Taihan said the vessel significantly enhances its capabilities in the offshore wind sector, allowing it to offer comprehensive services from cable design and production to installation and maintenance.
"Palos will not only strengthen Taihan's construction competitiveness but also serve as a crucial strategic asset protecting Korea's offshore wind market from foreign competition," Song Jong-min, Taihan's vice chairman, said.
