In a message published on his official Twitter and Facebook accounts, Suarez offered the apology to the defender, Giorgio Chiellini, and the entire "football family" for the bite, vowing that there would never be a recurrence of similar incidents.
FIFA banned Suarez for nine international matches and barred him from all football activities for four months for biting Chiellini.
